Dr. Jeter, a native Jacksonian, graduated from USM with a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio, Television, and Film. After several other creative design endeavors, Dr. Jeter graduated a second time from USM with a Master of Science in Psychology with and emphasis in School Psychology, and the same year he graduated from Jackson State University with a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision. He has served as Director of Curriculum for a US Department of Education high school magnet program, as a principal, district director, assistant superintendent, and state director.
In 2004, Dr. Jeter completed a Ph.D. in Education Foundations and Leadership at Jackson State University. He has taught for a number of years at the K-12, community college, and university levels in Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma – a career that has included classroom instruction assignments from kindergarten through the doctoral level. Recently, Dr. Jeter served as educational consultant for a philanthropic group in Natchez, the Natchez-Adams County Educational Development Foundation. In Fall 2022, he and his wife, Brenda, happily moved back to central Mississippi to once again be near family.
