Connect with Mississippi Public Broadcasting for special coverage of the 60th Festivities Honoring Medgar & Myrlie Evers. The events mark 60 years since civil rights leader Medgar Evers was slain in Mississippi. 

MPB’s coverage includes a visit by Evers’ daughter, Reena Evers Everette, on Next Stop, Mississippi, and a discussion with host Desare Frazier on Mississippi Edition on Monday, June 5. MPB's TV crew will also capture footage for the Medgar Evers documentary, currently in pre-production.

Vicksburg – Mayor George Flaggs, Jr., and the City of Vicksburg will present “Voices of Courage & Justice: Honoring Medgar and Myrlie Evers.”

Mississippi Delta – Gen Z Summit: Students from across the nation will participate in a self-guided tour, tracing Medgar Evers’ footsteps.

Thursday, June 8

Jackson – National Parks Service: The Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument Grand Opening at 10 a.m.

Jackson – MMEI Courage and Justice Gala, Jackson Convention Center, 6 p.m.
