MPB Partners with The Moth to Host Film Screening at the Mississippi Museum of Art

JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi Public Broadcasting will host a free screening of the award-winning film, “Walter Anderson: The Extraordinary Life and Art of the Islander” on Oct. 7, in the Art Garden at the Mississippi Museum of Art.

The event is part of The Moth’s Pop Up Porch Tour in Jackson, Miss. Free and open to the public, “MPB in the Art Garden” is a celebration of MPB’s partnership with The Moth and the state agency’s support of the arts. 

The event – which also features food trucks, a cash bar and live music – begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Art Garden, located at 380 S. Lamar St. The screening starts at 7 p.m. The Emmy-winning film explores the life and work of famed Mississippi Gulf Coast watercolorist Walter Inglis Anderson.

The Moth is a nonprofit organization that celebrates the commonality and diversity of
human experience through the art and craft of true, personal storytelling.
