Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump draws several thousand Mississippians to the Coliseum in Jackson for a campaign rally.
Donald Trump tells thousands of enthusiastic supporters his priority is to create millions of jobs.
"I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created believe me," said Trump.
Trump criticizes his opponent Democrat Hillary Clinton saying she's pushing for open borders that will kill American jobs. He says he'll renegotiate trade deals like NAFTA, which took jobs out of the country. Trump explains his priorities are jobs, wages and security for Americans. Trump says any immigration policy he supports must meet three tests, which includes improving wages for Americans first.
"It must improve the safety and security for United State citizens. Third, it must improve the quality of life for U.S. citizens," said Trump.
Trump complains Clinton wants to allow some 620-thousand refugees into the country. He says the need to defeat Islamic terrorism and the policies of Clinton and President Barak Obama have failed. Trump also says Democrats have failed African Americans, saying their crime, education and economic policies have led to more crime and poverty.
"The Democratic Party has taken the votes of African Americans totally for granted and they've nothing in return. They just assume they'll get your support and they've done nothing, absolutely nothing to deserve it," said Trump.
Speaking to a predominately white audience Trump says African Americans have nothing to lose by voting for him. He's drawn criticism from those who call his recent out reach to African Americans insincere.
