The State College Board is standing its ground, yesterday affirming the decision not to renew the contract of Chancellor Dan Jones of the University of Mississippi. After a lengthy executive session, the Board reiterated their decision to dozens of Jones supporters, who had gathered at yesterday afternoon's meeting. The line of prominent critics condemning the decision continues to grow. Jones's predecessor, Chancellor Emeritus Robert Khayat wrote a scathing op-ed, calling the decision "egregious" and in need of reversal. MPB's Sandra Knispel spoke with the former chancellor.
