For the first time since 2018, the Mississippi Department of Health will under the careful guidance of someone other than Dr. Thomas Dobbs. Dobbs became Mississippi's State Health Officer that year - in what would become a tenure marked by the evolving challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
Dobbs announced his departure from the post in March, and yesterday marked his final official day in office.
