Mississippi Public Broadcasting Think Radio’s weekend schedule will soon include more dynamic national programming. Three new shows will join the weekend lineup beginning July 4, including Radiolab, BackStory with the American History Guys and TED Radio Hour.

Radiolab has proven itself nationally,” said Jason Klein, MPB director of radio. “It is one of the top ten downloaded podcasts in the nation and will be a valuable addition to the Saturday line-up.” Radiolab will air on Saturdays at 1 p.m.

BackStory with the American History Guys will run from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.

“As part of our education mission, we believe it is important for people to understand how recent events have been driven by history,” said Klein. “This show offers that link.”

TED Radio Hour will follow BackStory on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“Its popularity and the importance of the subject matter has affected modern thinking,” said Klein. “We want to make sure Mississippians have access to that.”

In order to fit these new programs in the schedule, a couple other shows will change time slots.

Southern Remedy Replay will move to 6 a.m. on Sunday mornings, and Mississippi Arts Hour will air at 5 p.m. on Sundays right before Highway 61 to create a solid local arts block.
