During the past 7 seasons MPB has been your home for the Mississippi High School Athletic Association State Football Championships. We know how important high school athletics are to the people of this state -- especially football -- and we have proudly used our statewide broadcasting capabilities to bring every game to your home.
This year, the MHSAA and its marketing firm, PlayOn Sports, have chosen to go in a different direction. While it has been an honor for us to showcase “Mississippi’s stars of tomorrow” to the 2.2 million people in our viewing audience, we do understand that it is MHSAA’s right to go with a different business model.
We thank Don Hinton, his predecessor Dr. Ennis Proctor, and the MHSAA staff for our longstanding partnership that we believe has united all Mississippians. Although it is still our desire to broadcast the games, the MPB team extends our best wishes to the teams, coaches, student athletes, parents and communities as they prepare to compete for the coveted state championships.
