JACKSON, Miss. – Marshall Ramsey sits down with all new guests for January episodes of Conversations on MPB Television. Shows will air at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sundays and at 10 p.m. on Thursdays.
Guests and show air dates are as follows:
- Jane Hearn – Jan. 10 and Jan. 13 – Mississippi native Jane Hearn releases a new book, “A Past That Won’t Rest: Images of the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi.” The book contains never-before seen images from the turbulent civil rights movement in Mississippi. The photographs were shot by her late husband and professional photographer, Jim Lucas.
- General Janson D. Boyles – Jan. 13, Jan. 17 and Jan. 20 – Mississippi Adjutant General, Janson D. Boyles, talks about the ever-changing role of the National Guard where it pertains to state disaster relief and federal combat rotations.
- Jesmyn Ward – Jan. 20, Jan. 24 and Jan. 27 - American novelist and Tulane Professor Jesmyn Ward talks about her gift of storytelling that has earned her numerous accolades including two National Book Awards.
- George Malvaney – Jan. 27, Jan. 31 and Feb. 3 – He’s a former high school dropout, Klan member, mercenary and federal prisoner, but Jackson native George Malvaney turned his life around to become an environmental scientist and a successful businessman and details his story in a book.
