UPDATE:
***UPDATE: 5/9 ***
The repairs have been made to the tower and we are back on the air. Another issue was found during the process. The DTV transmission has been set to half power for 24 hours due to an antenna leaking air pressure. We should be at full power tomorrow. Thank you for your patience during this process.
Previous information:
Friday, May 5th – Tuesday, May 9th, technicians will be repairing the tower. During this time frame (if you are in this area) you may experience outages of our radio and television signals. We apologize for any inconvenience.
WMAO/Greenwood (Inverness) HDFM signal is currently off the air. Our technical services team is working on getting the issue resolved as quickly as possible.
One of our FM antennas on the tower was severely damaged during a recent storm. We are working with the antenna manufacturer to get this replaced as quickly as possible. It may be a few weeks before we are back on the air.
You can still listen to MPB through our mobile app, or here on our website.
For those who watch MPB Television using an antenna to receive our over-the-air signal, MPB Radio is also available as part of our TV lineup. Our channels for WMAO are 23.1 MPB, 23.2 PBS Kids 24/7, 23.3 Create, and 23.4 MPB Radio.
Thank you for your patience.
- This week (4/25/17), we received the replacement parts for our damaged antenna but discovered one of the parts was defective.
- Our vendor is shipping a replacement due to arrive Friday, April 28.
- We are in contact with the tower crew to schedule the installation as soon as Monday, May 1, depending on the weather. We need at least three straight days of clear weather (minus wind and rain) to complete the job.
- We are projecting to be broadcasting as early as May 3. However, depending on the weather, it could be as late as the week of May 8.
