Edie Greene, a longtime producer and later Assistant Director of Television at MPB, was honored last week in Atlanta by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Southeast Chapter.
NATAS better known as the EMMY organization, held their annual Gold & Silver Circle banquet and induction ceremony, recognizing a select group of fifteen people from across the region for their outstanding careers in television.
Edie, who attended with her husband, Fred, was praised for “her productions focusing on early literacy, dropout prevention, music, history, writing, and, frequently, civil rights,” as well as for mentoring young producers and promoting public television in Mississippi. Edie retired from MPB in April.
