On Wednesday, students with the MPB Can I Kick It? Summer Media Institute visited Cleveland, Mississippi, to tour the Grammy Museum and work with the professionals at the Delta Music Institute at Delta State University.
The day started off with a tour of the Grammy Museum. Students were able to see first hand some of the dresses, costumes, props and instruments used during Grammy perofrmances throughout the years. At interactive stations throughout the museum, the CIKI students were able to see what it was like to write and produce their own music. They also were able to see what it was like to be part of a band!
That afternoon, students worked with the pros at the Delta Music Institute at Delta State University to write, record and produce sound and music for their Public Service Announcement's.
On Friday, July 29th the students will present their final PSA's at the CIKI Showcase in the MPB Auditorium. The PSA's will air on Mississippi Public Broadcasting at a later date.
