The News and Public Affairs Department (NPAD) provides programming for both the Public TV and Radio stations of the Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

Each weekday morning, the NPAD provides three morning newscasts on the Public Radio stations of the Mississippi Public Broadcasting. The newscasts are at 6:04, 7:04, and 8:04 inside Morning Edition. Other news stories and features are also provided inside Morning Edition and the afternoon program, All Things Considered (at 4:04, 4:33, 5:04, and 5:33).

The NPAD also provides Radio listeners with special programming such Election Night Live. Coverage of election returns is provided on the evenings of the primary, runoff, and general election days.
