U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier granted preliminary approval Wednesday to a proposed settlement of  $7.8 billion to resolve BP oil spill claims. The settlement covers business owners and fishermen, but casino and oil rig workers are not included.

BP is giving a Mississippi Gulf Coast marketing organization $16million to help tourism recover from the oil spill.  Leaders from community groups met  to find out how to get a chunk of the money.
