Segment 1 :

State revenue growth in Mississippi means more money will go to roads and bridges but a bigger problem could be just over the horizon. Due to a deal struck in the legislative session, the state will spend an additional 32 million on roads and bridges in coming months.  Mike Pepper with the Mississippi Road Builders Association tells MPB's Jeffrey Hess the deal was an educated gamble.

Segment 2:

As Mississippi's children enjoy the last few weeks of summer vacation, officials with the state Department of Health are urging parents to get their kids vaccinated before the start of the new school year.  MPB's Paul Boger speaks with Dr. Thomas Dobbs, the State Epidemiologist.

Segment 3:

Coast Veterans are speaking out about how to fix the scandal-plagued Department of Veterans Affairs. 4th District Congressman Steven Palazzo held veterans forums in Hattiesburg and Biloxi this week and heard from around 200 veterans about their frustrations with the VA.

Segment 4:

This summer we've been visiting with some of the people featured in author Polly Dement's new book, "Mississippi Entrepreneurs."  This week we hear from C-Spire president and CEO Hu Meena.  He tells MPB's Ezra Wall when he was younger, his mind was FAR from the boardroom.
