Dec. 29: Hunger on the Coast

Air date 12/29/11

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) gives Mississippi 2 out of 5 stars for current preventative measures against drunk driving. The organization stresses the state's need for additional safe driving measures, and Alexa Roney, coordinator for Jackson County MADD, explains how they are encouraging law makers to tighten legislation around the issue.

Thousands of residents will go into 2012 with just one wish: something to eat.  Mississippians are at the greatest risk for food insecurity in the United States due to high poverty levels. While hunger has traditionally been a serious problem in the Delta, recent trends show that it is becoming more prevalent across the state. Rhonda Miller speaks to Mary Meldren of Our Daily Bread, a soup kitchen in Pascagoula.

Also, Business Break goes green, and Book Club with Neil White, the editor of "The Top 100 Greatest Football Players of All Time."
