School in Smithville

Air date 08/16/11

The students of tornado-ravaged Smithville had their first day of school yesterday. But despite huge progress on the cleanup in the small town in north-east Mississippi, not everything went quite as planned: the move to the temporary campus in Smithville has been delayed by approximately two weeks. That means that Smithville students from Kindergarten through high school are now being taught in two locations, in Becker and in Amory. MPB's Sandra Knispel caught up with Scott Cantrell, Superintendent of Education for the Monore County Schools to talk about the outlook for Smithville.
