Debate Over Eminent Domain

The future of one of three constitutional amendments on this fall's ballot is the hands of a hinds county judge. The judge is deciding if an amendments to prevent goverment from taking property for anything but a public project is constitutional and can be voted on this November. Leland Speed is director of the Mississippi Development Authority but he says he is speaking out as a private citizen not in his leadership role. He explains why he is against the amendment.

The Mississippi Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business supports the amendment. MPB's Jeffrey Hess spoke with NFIB director Ron Aldridge who says his organizations has been looking for more protection for property owners for a long time.
