Tues, June 19: Free Vaccines

Air date 06/19/12

This year there will be new vaccination requirements for Mississippi 7th graders. They must now be vaccinated against Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis. To help make sure everyone is covered, the State Department of Health is offering several vaccines free of charge to adolescents this week and next. Acting State Epidemiologist, Dr. Paul Byers joins us to discuss the vaccines and diseases.

Then, Kay Maghan is with the Godwin Group, and represents the Gulf Coast Regional Tourism Partnership. She says there's a lot to do on the Gulf Coast for people of all ages. What's your best kept Mississippi secret? Tweet us using #DiscoverMS.

Also, Sherry Davis-Garner from "Styling Your Life"  gives workplace 101 tips for social networks and finding and keeping a job.

Plus,  Fred Haise is a Mississippi native who went to the moon. He is mostly known as one of the astronauts on Apollo 13. Haise talks to MPB's Rhonda Miller about the future of space travel. He says space travel without the shuttle program will be a big change.
