Thursday, May 17: Pregnant Teens

Air date 05/17/12

Over Six Thousand babies are born each year to girls between the ages of 10 and 19. By the time you factor in healthcare, food and other provisions, and other necessary social services, the cost to Mississippi's economy is over 155-million-dollars per year. Yet, instead of exploring new ways to teach kids about safe sex, some Mississippi religious leaders prefer to return to a more traditional method. William Perkins is the editor of the Baptist Record, the state newspaper for Mississippi Baptists.

Then, John T. Edge is the author of numerous cook books, a regular New York Times food columnist, and the director of the Foodways Alliance at the University of Mississippi. His latest book is "The Truck Food Cookbook: 150 Recipes and Ramblings from America's Best Restaurants on Wheels." MPB's Sandra Knispel sat down with him in his home in Oxford to talk about food on wheels, truly weird ingredients, and his street adventures.

Also, we have business break.
