Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann is responding to a controversial report released by NYU's Brennan Center for Justice. The report says that under a new Mississippi voter ID law, tens of thousands of citizens could have trouble getting the required ID. Hosemann tells MPB's Jeffrey Hess he has big problems with the Brennan Center report.

Voilent crime is just one of the issues plaguing Mississippi's capital city. Below Jackson's cracked streets are antiquated, crumbling utilities. Still, Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson, Jr. says the city is making progress in many ways. He tells MPB's Karen Brown his ideas about addressing violent crime.
