Wed. April 18: Spill Recovery

Air date 04/18/12

Friday marks the second anniversary of the BP Oil Spill, and there is growing disagreement about just how much progress Mississippi has made in recovery. Trudy Fisher is Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. She spoke to MPB's Rhonda Miller about restoring oyster reefs and other gulf habitats.

Then, Stacey Todd is a special education teacher at Oak Grove High School. She is also the 2012 Mississippi Teacher of the Year. She tells MPB's Jeffrey Hess that she is surprised by the commendation.

Also, the University of Mississippi has a new head football coach. And as MPB's Jay White found out, Coach Hugh Freeze is downplaying almost everything positive about this year's Ole Miss Rebels, starting with the quarterback position. He says Barry Brunetti and Bo Wallace both have a shot at the job.
