Monday, April 16: Wicker on Syria

Air date 04/16/12

While the shelling of civilians continues in Syria, Iran is possibly less than a year away from developing a nuclear bomb. On Friday, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker answered wide-ranging questions questions from a panel of journalists at the Overby Center for Southern Journalism and Politics. MPB's Sandra Knispel was part of the panel and asked the senator about his position on international hot spots such as Syria and Iran.

Also, two years after the nation’s worst oil spill, some say Mississippi beaches and businesses are finally casting off the oil-soaked image and returning to normal.  But as MPB’s Rhonda Miller reports, others are still struggling to rebuild their lives and find a “new normal.”

Then, Project START is part of the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services. The program helps connect disabled Mississippians with the assistive devices they need to live everyday life.  Joining us to talk about how the public can help in the effort is Dorothy Young, director of Project START.
