Thursday, Dec. 22 Safe Travels

Air date 12/22/11

MPB's Jeffrey Hess guest hosts:

Today marks the first day of winter and the potential for snow and ice to return to Mississippi roads will be high over the next few months.  Last winter, the state was hammered by snow and ice that reached almost to the coast and strained the state's road crews.  We're joined by John Brodbeck, president of Mississippi Safety Services.  Brodbeck says winter driving can be tricky for the unfamiliar.

Then, the Business Break discusses the newly released PERS study with PERS Executive Director, Pat Robertson.

Also, Forrest Lamar Cooper has been collecting postcards and other pictures of Mississippi for many years. Many of the views captured in Cooper's collection are well over a hundred years old. He tells MPB's Karen Brown that his interest in Mississippi history started with his own hometown.
