This week, Governor Haley Barbour is scheduled to release his budget recommendation for the next fiscal year. The joint legislative budget committee released their recommendation last week. Governor Barbour tells MPB's Rhonda Miller that he has some advice for the people crafting this year's budget.

Also, a 22-year-old Gulf Coast man brought in about fifteen-hundred dollars to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign by ringing the bell continuously for 36 hours and 20 minutes in a national competition. Alan Jermyn attracted so much attention at Walmart in D’Iberville Thursday and Friday, he said many people came to put money in his red kettle, even if they weren’t shopping. Jermyn competed with 24 other bell ringers nationwide to break the 36- hour record. A Springfield, Illinois man set a new 60-hour record to earn a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. Jermyn tells MPB's Rhonda Miller that he's new to Bell Ringing.
