Scratch and Sniff: Art Smells Good

Air date 09/27/11

The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council in Oxford had planned to open a show tonight by local artist Katherine Rhodes Fields at the Powerhouse in Oxford. That was before the controversy started. The show "Scratch and Sniff: Art Smells Good" had previously set gallery record in St. Louis. MPB's Sandra Knispel spoke with Wayne Andrews, the executive director of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council about the decision to move the exhibit to a private tent down the road and what exactly has so many up-in-arms.

Sandra also spoke with Oxford Mayor Pat Patterson who had urged Wayne Andrews to reconsider his plans to run the show that displays partially nude 1970s centerfolds.
