Segment 1:
President Barack Obama has made a disaster declaration for seven counties in Mississippi following a deadly tornado outbreak early this week.  At a press conference yesterday, Governor Phil Bryant talked about the importance of that Federal declaration.
In this segment we also hear from Sen. Thad Cochran, Sen. Roger Wicker, and Rep. Alan Nunnelee.
Segment 2:
In the aftermath of a tornado, one of the first things to happen is the assessment by the National Weather Service.  Meteorologists and other researchers get out into the communities and follow the path of the storm, taking notes and collecting data.  MPB's Paul Boger followed a team of NWS researchers as they assessed the tornado that cut a path through parts of Hinds and Rankin counties. He spoke with Weather Service Meteorologist Alan Gerard.
Segment 3:
As soon as dangerous storms passed through Mississippi, one of the first organizations on the ground was the Red Cross Mississippi Region.  Joining us to talk about their relief efforts, and how you can help, is Martha Duvall of the Red Cross.
