Segment 1:
The FBI is on campus at the University of Mississippi, helping to find out who tied a noose and placed a confederate-style flag on the James Meredith statue there. Dr. Donald Cole, now a math professor and the chancellor’s assistant for multicultural affairs, was himself among the early group of black students to come to Ole Miss in 1970. He says students and faculty alike are dismayed at this latest racially-charged action.  Dr. Cole spoke with MPB's Sandra Knispel.
Segment 2:
Only about 2/3 of high school students in Mississippi will go on to college after they graduate. However, award-winning actor, education activist and bestselling author Hill Harper says he knows how Mississippi can reverse that trend. Speaking to hundreds of students at this year's annual Metro Area Career Fair, Harper says kids in Mississippi should be taught that they are in charge of their future. Harper spoke with MPB's Paul Boger.
Segment 3:
John Maxwell is an actor, director and playwright.  He's perhaps best known for his one-man play, "Oh Mister Faulkner, do you write?"  Maxwell spoke with Jody Engel for the Mississippi Arts Hour.
