Construction will soon be underway on two museums focusing on the people and events that have shaped Mississippi.  State officials and civil rights leaders broke ground on the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum in Jackson yesterday.  Governor Phil Bryant was joined by three former governors at the ceremony.  Governors Bryant, Haley Barbour, Ronnie Musgrove and William Winter each spoke with MPB’s Jeffrey Hess.

For more than 80 days, volunteers from Mission Mississippi and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes have taken an illuminated cross through each of Mississippi's 82 counties.  The goal:  to raise awareness of the work Mission Mississippi has done over the last 20 years bringing people together across racial barriers.  Neddie Winters is president of Mission Mississippi.  He spoke to MPB's Ezra Wall.

Anita Modak-Truran joins our Karen Brown to talk about this weekend’s box office openings.
