2012 PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest Winners

 MPB encouraged children in kindergarten through 3rd grade to create their own stories as part of the 2012 PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest.  Children celebrated the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original pieces to MPB.  The Contest was a huge success this year with over 450 entries total. Internal and external judging was conducted to select our 2012 winners.  Winners for our 2012 Contest are as follows: 

 

Kindergarten:

1st – Marissa Wingerter - "Greeny Caterpillar's Big Change"

2nd – Anna Arzate - "The Sick Elephant"

3rd – Bobby Watts - "Captain Goldstorm and the Secret Treasure"

 

1st Grade:

1st – Audrey Brust - "The Flower Story"

2nd – Marley Breland - "The Day I Met a Mermaid"

3rd – Kaylee Wildon - "It's Not About the Crown!"

 

2nd Grade:

1st – Morgan Gerrie - "MoMo the Monkey"

2nd – Sadie Pohl - "My Cupcakes"

3rd – Conner Norvell - "The Adventures of Pizza Man"

 

3rd Grade:

1st – Alayna McCullough - "The Littlest to the Biggest"

2nd – Kylie Carruth - "The Adventures of Hannah the Wolf"

3rd – Garon Malone - "Bob's Great Idea"

 

Staff Pick:

Rakesia Wilson of Crystal Springs, Miss. for "A Friend" 

 

National winners will be notified in June 2012.
