The Gulf Islands: Mississippi’s Wilderness Shore
Mississippi has a national treasure in our Gulf Islands National Seashore. The park extends from the Okaloosa area near Fort Walton, Florida to Cat Island in Mississippi. The Mississippi portion of the park, Petit Bois, Horn, Ship and Cat Islands, are a brilliant pocket of pristene wilderness in our state. In 2009, MPB released The Gulf Islands: Mississippi's Wilderness Shore, exploring the islands' rich cultural, natural, and recreational assets. The documentary highlights the essence of the islands, which have been home to unique wildlife and inspired the work of artists.
