JOB DUTIES INCLUDE
 
 

Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking an Audio Technician for the television network post and production audio department using digital audio formats; computer controlled audio consoles and computer audio editing.  Maintain the sound quality of the Agency at the highest possible level; work with Producers to identify audio equipment needs for productions; set up studio and field equipment, layout, & interconnect for location and remote productions.  Work with Producers and Directors to determine production technical support, artistic needs, and operate audio consoles.  Additional duties included, but not limited to, serving as part of the production crew when needed including studio and location productions, maintain equipment involved in field production and complete all forms as required.  Knowledge of digital audio standards and formats, audio and video computer file formats, experience with Pro Tools software, experience with Windows and OSX operating systems, experience with wireless microphone and IFB systems, intercom systems are required. Insure quality control standards are maintained in digital audio signal flow.

 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 
 

An Associate’s Degree from an accredited two-year college in Electronics or equivalent formal electronics training, or a directly related field, (AND) three (3) years of experience in work directly related to the above described duties; (OR) Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED), (AND) five (5) years of experience in work directly related to the above described duties. This position is classified as State Service, Exempt.
