AG Files Suit Against Entergy
State Attorney General Jim Hood says Entergy Mississippi has refused to comply with a subpoena issued by his Office and a unanimous resolution passed by the Public Service Commission. Tuesday General Hood filed a lawsuit charging Entergy with illegal business practices.
Hood: "It doesn't just include consumer protection, deceptive trade practices. It contains issues of anti-trust and how they've used their transmission lines to prohibit other cheaper sources from coming to Mississippi rate payers. It was fraud committed against the Public Service Commission. They lied in testimony and told em that they were providing the actual cost, which is the lowest reliable rate available."
Entergy Mississippi President, Haley Fisackerly (phis-AH-ker-ly), released a statement Monday saying the utility disagreed with the Public Service Commisssion's resolution. Entergy did not comply with the request to turn over documents, and instead asked the PSC for a formal inquiry and public hearing on the matter.
