Mississippi Public Broadcasting News Earns Five Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards |

JACKSON, Miss.—Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) News has been honored with five regional 2010 Edward R. Murrow awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association, MPB today announced.
“What a tremendous honor for our news and public affairs team, and for the agency and the state of Mississippi as a whole,” says Dr. Judith Lewis, MPB Executive Director. “Mississippi Public Broadcasting takes very seriously its commitment to providing information that’s pertinent to the citizens of Mississippi.”
“These winning stories are a great example of the day-to-day work by MPB news reporters, editors and producers, “adds Patty Davis, MPB Director of News and Public Affairs. “It is rewarding to see this work recognized and to know that the stories of Mississippi residents and their communities are important and relevant to a wider audience.”
The awards include:

Since 1971, the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has honored the outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards. According to the RTDNA, the recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the broadcast news profession. |
