FCC Offers Free Installation of DTV Converter Boxes

(Jackson, Miss)— The Federal Communications Commission is providing digital television (DTV) consumer assistance for converter box installations.  Under contract with the FCC, R&D Training and Technical Services (RDTTS) is providing free installation of up to two DTV converter boxes per household in Mississippi and other states along the east coast. 

 

To request a free installation and setup of DTV converter boxes, call toll free 1-866-202-4596, email RDTTS at callcenterDTV@RDTTS.com or visit www.RDTTS.com and click on the Direct TV support link.   Congress has set June 12, 2009 as the as the final deadline for terminating analog broadcasts and begin broadcasting only in digital.

 

“We have ten RDTTS technicians in Mississippi installing DTV converter boxes for consumers. Once you call or email us, we will set up a date and time for a service visit to the home,” said David Goldsworthy, RDTTS president.
