“Jack Lucas - War Hero” airs on MPB TV

(Jackson, Miss.) - Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) will air "Jack Lucas - War Hero" on Monday, June 9 at 9:30 p.m. An encore presentation will air Wednesday, June 11 at 9:00 p.m. followed by "The War: The Mississippi Experience" at 9:30 p.m.

"Jack Lucas - War Hero" is a 30-minute personal interview with Lucas taped by MPB in 2007. Lucas shares how he joined the military at age 14, fought in Iwo Jima, and earned the Medal of Honor from President Harry Truman, making him the youngest recipient since the Civil War.

MPB’s “The War: The Mississippi Experience,” which originally aired in the fall of 2007, contains interviews with Lucas and other WWII veterans of Mississippi.
