State Senate Confirms Perry Sansing to MPB Board |
|
(Jackson, Miss.) - Perry Sansing’s re-appointment by Governor Haley Barbour to the Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) Board of Directors was recently confirmed by the State Senate. The MPB Board oversees the operations of Mississippi Public Broadcasting.
Sansing, from Columbus, serves as the Assistant to the President and University Counsel for Mississippi University for Women. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the University of Mississippi. He received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi and served as law clerk for Chief Judge Charles Clark of the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
“Mississippi Public Broadcasting continues to enhance and improve the quality of life in our state through its programs and educational offerings. MPB has an outstanding staff dedicated to the mission of public broadcasting. I look forward to supporting the staff members in their efforts and working with the other board members to enhance the services offered by MPB,” commented Sansing.
In addition to Sansing, members of the MPB Board of Directors include Ann Brock, Daryl Lewis, Rosemary Blakeslee, Dr. Ronald Mason, Jr., and Dr. Beth Sewell.
MPB operates an eight station public television network, an eight-station public radio network, and the Radio Reading Service of Mississippi. MPB serves all 82 counties of the state of Mississippi providing quality instructional and public programming. Since its first broadcast in 1970, MPB has won over 350 awards for its local productions including numerous regional Emmys, a national Emmy and Parents’ Choice Award for early childhood instructional programs.
