Ole Miss Riot Rumors Downgraded to Protest

By Annie Gilbertson | Published 07 Nov 2012 09:30am | comments
University of Mississippi students protested the reelection of President  Barrack Obama late last night. Protestors burned an Obama campaign sign. The Clarion Ledger reported students were heard shouting racial epithets about Obama and African Americans in general before police began breaking up the group at 12:30 AM.   While early reports sparked rumors of a riot, University Police say no incidents of violence occurred.  Two arrests were made. One was for disorderly conduct and one was alcohol related. University Police say no mace was used, denying such claims made by students in online video footage.
