Middle School Achievement through Technology-Rich Interventions (MATRIX)

The purpose of the Mississippi MATRIX Project is to improve middle school reading and mathematics achievement of students in urban and rural schools not meeting AYP. The project provides learning modules and games using the emerging technologies of PDAs, iPods and digital video, along with Quantum Simulations' online Artificial Intelligence Assessors & Tutors.  Mississippi Public Broadcasting partnered with Matrix California in a Star Schools Grant from 2007-2008 and implemented this program in schools selected for the Technology Integration Initiative.  Though the Star Schools grant has ended, MPB continues to support this program.
